Lagunitas

Haven’t you always wanted to come home and say, “I just stopped off for a little sumpin’ sumpin’?”  Well now you can.  But get your mind out of the gutter.  It is the new summer offering from Lagunitas out of Petaluma, Ca.

Lagunitas can best be described as an unconventional brewery.  They do things their own way, rules be damned.  Sometimes they have to pay for this headstrong way of doing things, but in the end, they always have their integrity, and that really says a lot about these guys.  Their beers lean towards hoppy aromas and first sips, then quickly gravitate into complex malty beverages.  And they are constantly trying new things, regularly coming out with five or more new beers annually.

A little sumpin’ sumpin’ is a little different.  It is probably their third or fourth different IPA.  This one is dry hopped, so the hoppy flavor is lasting longer throughout the beer.  Taste is fruit and honey with a tad bit of wheat, and a ton of grass.  It bites back at you too.  Huge dry, bitter finish on this one.  It truly leaves you wanting more–very sessionable.  Any hop head or IPA fan will be satisfied with this.
